Karen Hall - Pilates Instructor
Pilates is a holistic approach to wellbeing, fitness and health – a form of exercise that unites mind and body, breath with movement and balances strength with flexibility. Pilates exercises build core stability, increase range of movement, release tension and enhance vitality.
The non-impact exercises can be modified or progressed in numerous ways which makes Pilates highly suitable for people of all ages, fitness levels and remedial needs and beneficial to people who suffer from neck or back pain, or injuries related to stress and overuse of joints and muscles.
Karen has taught movement and exercise to people of all ages and abilities throughout her career as a dance artist and began instructing Pilates in 2004. She has since gone on to complete the Pilates Institute Master Diploma and runs classes in matwork and with specialized Pilates equipment.
Her classes are taught in a supportive and friendly atmosphere, with a focus on developing awareness of posture and challenging the body with exercises that are gentle yet deeply effective to restore a sense of balance, order and ease in the body.
Clients who are referred by the Chiropractic clinic will receive a personal consultation on joining the class to ensure an exercise program that compliments their treatment and suits their individual needs with a progress review after six weeks. Our shared aim is for clients to feel tangible and measurable benefit, to learn how to look after their bodies and to feel better.
Karen trained with the Pilates Institute and holds certificates in Matwork, Studio Equipment, Clinical Posture, Healthy Back, Neck and Shoulder, Hip and Sacroiliac, Knee and Foot, Anatomy and Physiology, Pilates for Seniors and Pregnancy Pilates within the Pilates Institute Master Diploma. She has a Diploma and MA in Dance, teaches exercise and Yoga for children and is a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals.
